The Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Education Manager of Camps and Classes, with emphasis on customer service, daily operations and scheduling, to ensure quality control.

This working director position oversees the operations of the Education Department in accordance with Orlando Science Center policies.

The Director reports to the Vice President of Education to ensure programs are meeting the strategic plan and annual goals of the organization.

This individual manages the teams who run all fee-based education programs and oversee the daily operations across the division.

It is the role of this individual to ensure the timely, cost effective and high quality execution of fee-based programs from concept to the final product.

The secondary responsibility for this position is to coordinate traveling exhibit logistics and oversee contract labor for traveling exhibits.

This includes coordinating and delegating tasks with the traveling exhibits crew to ensure safe and timely load-in and load-out.

They must be able to takes initiative, be a problem-solver, be highly computer literate and is knowledgeable both on MAC and PC.

Illustration experience (primarily computer-drawn, secondarily hand-drawn); Exhibit/Informational content design experience (thematic layout and design for exhibits, theme parks, hands-on experiences, etc.) Use of Xacto or other cutting blades and straight edges in production of large format printed materials, use of laminators and grommet punches, ability to lift 50 lbs, ability to push/pull 100 lbs and sit for an extended period of time.

Science Interpreters will demonstrate a willingness to learn and educate themselves on all topics of science as well as be expected to study curriculum and supplementary materials to gain proficiency in the sciences taught by the institution and improve upon existing content knowledge and teaching/presentation skills.
